Verb Phrase Analysis From The Opinion About eSIM Technology in China

1.1.          Background
In the first assignment of “Business English 2” course, the task is to give opinion about some news articles. The articles are collected from three sources, which discussed about e-SIM technology that has been using in China.
SIM card or Subscriber Identity Module Card is a small card that signifies the user subscription with an operator. SIM card contains information about subscribtion to a service and the identity of the card’s owner. There are two types of SIM cards, which are GSM and CDMA. SIM card has several forms: the oldest is a mini SIM, the smaller SIM called micro SIM and the smallest one is nano SIM. Along with the technology development, eSIM or embeded SIM comes as a new innovation. eSIM has been using in some areas in China, such as Shanghai, Tianjin, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhengzhou, and Changsha.
Embeded SIM or eSIM is a technology that make it easy for user to use the same mobile phone number in two different devices. eSIM will be directly embedded in the device. At first, this innovation had been used with a bluetooth connection on the old version of smartwatch and iphone. The disadvantage of using bluetooth is related to the distance between the two devices. So, user have to bring the both devices everywhere. Apple Smartwatch 3 is one of the devices that supports the eSIM without using a bluetooth connection. The data that is stored inside the smartwatch will synchronized into the handpone in real time.
In my opinion, this inovation is very useful because it does not need to buy a SIM card if you want to switch operators. The menu for switching operators can be directly accessed on the device screen. It easier for user because user do not need to exchage the old SIM card with a new card. User can also wear two devices using the same number. It is so helpful when someone is doing the activities which is not allowed to hold a smarthphone, the user then can access it via the smartwatch. In addition, the data that goes into the smartwatch will be synchronized with the data user’s cell phone so that user does not have to worry if they needs data from one device.
Before eSIM enter Indonesia, registered operators must agree to adopt the technology and provide the services. All operators and the devices from various brands should support these technologies. The system’s trial can be done in an area, such as in Jakarta. All operators that will adopt these innovations should follow the experiment. If the technology is successful  applied in Jakarta, it can be deployed gradually to other cities.
The socialization of the technology to the community should be done prior to implementation. Socialization can be done via video that can be accessed on the internet, handing out brochure in a public place or conduct training in the neighbourhood. The officer have to give introduction about the e-SIM and how to use it. Socialization should be done to all societies because the smarthphone is a tool that is owned by most people. Officials from the operators must also be able to ensure that the community is understanding with these innovations and not in trouble when exchange the operator.
